Liz is an artist who has worked in diverse aspects of the arts throughout her career. A graduate of the National College of Art and Design, Dublin where she studied woven textile design. She then worked for a number of years in the textile industry and was Irelands first female dyer. She won several awards for her silk ikat weaving in the RDS Crafts Award Competition. She has always drawn and painted and over the years has explored a wide range of media and approaches to image making. Liz has an interest in portraiture, working on a small scale and in miniature and was awarded the Ireland US Council/ Irish Arts Review Award for Portraiture at the RHA 188th Annual Exhibition 2018. She has completed a number of portrait and illustration commissions, including stamps for An Post. Liz has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions and her work is displayed in corporate and private collections in Ireland and abroad.
In addition to her work as an artist, she completed post-graduate training in art therapy and works as an art therapist in diverse settings. She also facilitates workshops in exploring creativity and visual journaling.
